Biography
Pat Gulletts art is a record of her dreams, life experiences, meditations and Shaman journeys. Each piece depicts her journey of the Path of the Heart--- therefore, each has a story to tell. The work reflects her belief in the ancient connections between humans, animals, the earth and the stars at their very essence. Her fascination with Quantum Physics, string theory, the matrix, and multiple dimensions is revealed in layers of sculptured images on truly unique jewelry of silver, gold, stones, and fossils.
Pat received her BFA in Art from the University of Illinois, and her MA from Columbia College Chicago. At Howling Moon Studio, each hand-made piece is filled with symbols of petroglyphs, the cosmos, and hieroglyphs from many ancient cultures. The eclipses, and cycles of the moon, represent natural Earth rhythms. The animals, stones, sea creatures, and mythic shapes hold the ancient wisdom that we are now remembering in this evolutionary time.
After many years of teaching art,
and selling her paintings around the Chicago area, life relocated her
to the beautiful, animal filled, woods of Connecticut. Major life changes
transitioned her focus from paintings to metalsmithing. Now, many of the
same symbols for the Journey are sculpted, etched, and forged into highly
textured jewelry of fine silver, precious metal clay, gold, and sterling.
Often covered in iridescent tones of patina, this is true alchemy of earth,
air, fire, and water. Brooches, pendants, and earrings become totems for
expanding consciousness and remembering another reality of Spirit, magic,
and Universal Truths. Art reflects a holographic piece of the Mystery
of Life. Pat was Faculty Assistant to Linda
Kaye-Moses at the Spring Session of Arrowmont, 2005.
